Welcome International Medical Visiting Students

Thank you for your interest in the Visiting Student Program at the University of Louisville, School of Medicine. The School of Medicine receives many requests and inquires for clinical rotations. We strive to maintain a rich diverse international visiting student program and hold multiple affiliations with institutions globally. Although we cannot guarantee placement, please know that we will do all we can to support your clinical request should we be able to approve your application and match your dates with an open elective.

You will need the following documents to apply:

• TOEFL score sheet (100 score or higher)
• Nomination letter by your Dean or Faculty of Medicine
• Letter of Recommendation from your Dean
• Letter of Recommendation from prior Elective or Clinical
• Personal Statement
• Transcripts 
• CV
• German students:  Abitur and Pyhsikum

Clinical Elective Catalog



Students may apply during the following clinical block dates:

Block One - applications accepted January 1-15 for July - August - September rotation dates

There are four stage in the application process:

1. Check eligibility
2. Upload Personal Information
3. List requested electives and dates
4. Upload required documents

Once your application is reviewed at each stage, we will determine whether or not we can move forward with your request and will update your online application status.
